Wow! This book is really starting to interest me. Let me explain some of the story: So Quinten is a smart boy, a senior in high school along with his neighbor Margo who is the "cool" type and almost a punk. They used to be friends at like the age of nine I believe but then in the woods they found a dead body. This is quite significant to the story because this is where we see the relationships shift or moreover how they shifted. I believe this would have a profound effect on any kid, but Quinten's parents are therapists so he eventually gets over it. But we see Margo with a rebellious nature, and one might argue that perhaps this moment from their childhood brought her there. I'm very interested in learning how exactly she got there and more on the story with the body.
Right now I'm at where Margo has disappeared after a night of rebellious pranks with Quinten. He's very worried about her and it almost makes the reader worried too! This book has been a great read so far, and I can't wait to read more and fill you in on what happens next!
I think that this sounds like a pretty interesting book. Finding a dead body would change what a child feel expecially when your that young.
ReplyDeleteI understand why they would stop hanging out. Quinton probably reminded Margo of the dead body and their trip in the forest. It would be hard to deal with and her rebellious nature is probably due to the feeling of being alone. This author sounds like a creative person and a very good writer. If I was these two kids I would be definately changed and scarred for life.
ReplyDeleteI understand how that would really mess up a kid. If I was their age and at that time found a dead body, I would be a little freaked out too. I do agree with you that this event changed Margo and Quinten's friendship all together. Like you said Quinten had therapists as parents who could help him forget. Now with Margo, I know from what you told me that she doesn't have professionals who could help her forget, but what about her parents. They could have sat her down and told her that everything is okay.
