Beloved

In chapter 19 of Beloved, Sethe finds herself stealing from the restaurant she works at because shes 'too proud' to face the racism of the local grocer. My question this week is have you ever been in a similar situation? That is, have you ever been too proud to do something? Im interested in your feedback!

  1. I'm pretty sure that everyone has had one of those moments where they are to proud. I don't think that all off them are this extreme but, we all know people that can't admit that they are wrong and so forth.

  2. I think this is sad! I totally agree that this happens though. People are still stuck in old ways and I hope the future is better and less racist, but there will always be problems. I hope the book gets better though!

  3. Too proud to do something, well sometimes if I am at a store and I know they have what I'm looking for I don't want to ask anybody for help so I just wander around till I find it. I don't like asking for help.

  4. In all honesty, I really don't know. As you can tell, I am very distanced from the rest of society, and I like that. But the sad news is that I'm too far away. I Often feel that I am missing out on a few things. But on the upside, I'll just forget about later. I tend to do that alot.
