Beloved #?
This week I want to talk about the paranormal. In Beloved, the paranormal and supernatural play a big role as seen in the ghost of Beloved haunting Sethe and her family. They do not seem to question it's a ghost at all. So my question this week is do you believe in the supernatural? Or are you hesitant in believing in something that you don't understand. I believe, but I wouldn't say I'm as easy to explain phenomenon like this on a ghost as easily as Sethe is. How do you feel about this?

I'm not sure if I believe that their are ghost or anything like that. But maybe there is, it is hard to know about something or understand something you can't see or feel or even hear. I have several friends that do believe in ghost though. I also wonder if they are real because of those median people that "speak to the dead". I find this to be a interesting subject.
ReplyDeleteI, myself, believe in ghosts and thats only because I believe anything can happen and when it's your time to go, your going to go whether your ready or not and that's just the facts of life. Though I am pretty hesitant on if I believe in reincarnation. I have been to Gettysburg, PA and for that fact, its made me believe in ghosts more just because of what we saw and heard stories about.
ReplyDeleteGhost scare me quite a bit so I don't believe in them but there are some undeniable incidents of supernatural. In Song of Solomon also by Toni Morrison it talks about how the main character's aunt Pilate could see the ghost of her father. And he was telling her to Sing, there is some irony in that but you would need to read the book. Or I think I mentioned it in my blog.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I, like other freindless skeptics, find that "we'll believe it, only if we see it." Granted that seeing might cause some impaired psychological problems and might possibly kill me, but I refuse to believe in Aliens, Ghosts, Krumpus, Yeti/Bigfoot, Zombies, Cthulu, Banshees, and Technology saving the world if I can not see it. (Sorry, I seem to have gone off a tangent.)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure ghosts are real, but arent exactly what media or our minds portray them to be. I think people can hold on and stay in this world, but they are just hear. More like their energy is still around in places that they really loved or had strong connections with. I dont think that they are vengeful, I just think that they are present.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe in ghost, for me it is hard to believe that a (basically) energy person can be in a room and even meddle with you.
